SANDBOX POLITICS
The sandbox is a place of severe politics. The child with the
biggest shovel and the loudest scream usually gets to be the leader because of
intimidation and shovel envy. All the children will hover near this child
waiting for a chance to gain favor with him or her and perhaps to get a
chance to play with the larger shovel.
To maintain their friends favor children will often jump to put down
any child with whom their friend has found fault with. But children
are petty little people, and often squabbles arise among them. Common
insults flung are "My Dads' tougher than your Dad!" or "My shovel
is bigger than yours!". Squabbles serve as amusement for the leader
of the children who often encourages such fights.
If ever an other child should arrive with a bigger and better shovel
the children would abandon their former friend and quickly seek to gain
the approval of the new child.
Countries are not as fickle as this however. They would never dream
of allowing a country with a larger army to intimidate or dominate
then. Sovereign states never hover around a stronger state anxious
to gain that countries favor. No they are too proud for that.
Countries seek out alliances with stronger states for protection.
Sovereign states would never boycott another country just because
their friend disapproves of them.
States are far too mature to pick petty fights among themselves
throwing such insults as "My army is tougher than your army!" and
"My gun is bigger than yours!". No country would stoop so low.
For certain no self respecting state would find amusement in such
arguments, nor would they ever think of encouraging such a fight.
Countries are known for sticking by their friends even if a stronger
state should arise. They would never do as children do and abandon
their former friend and seek to gain the friendship of the stronger
state.
All in all I definitely think that Countries are much more mature than
mere children playing in a sandbox!!!
